Five Major Misconceptions About Light Therapy
Does Light Therapy Produce The Same Light As The Light From The Sun, And Can It Damage My Skin?
Sunlight can profoundly affect the skin causing premature aging, skin cancer, and a host of other changes due to the emission of broad spectrum Ultraviolet (UV) light through the atmosphere. Omnilux technology utilizes both the Visible Spectra of light, from blue (415 nm) to red (633 nm) as well as the Invisible Spectra, Near Infrared (830 nm), which is closest to Visible Light. These wavelengths are safe for humans, and the Omnilux specific treatment wavelengths have been shown to actually “mend” the cellular damage done by the sun’s UVA and UVB rays.
How Does Omnilux Light Therapy Differ From Laser Treatment?
Light Therapy is non-ablative, meaning it does not cut, burn or break the skin surface (epidermis) as with Laser treatment. Lasers use heat to vaporize or remove skin tissue to evoke a healing response in the skin over 1 to 4 months. Even so-called “gentle lasers,” which leave the skin intact, create microscopic wounds on 15 to 20% of the skin surface, and cause redness for up to a week, with some flaking, as the skin regenerates. Omnilux Light Therapy produces no heat, vaporization or burning of surrounding tissue, and thus, no inflammation (swelling) and no erythema (redness) following irradiation. With Omnilux there are few immediate, visible changes to skin, as change occurs naturally over a few weeks at the cellular level, so there’s no “down-time” for healing after treatment.
How Does Omnilux Treat Such A Wide Range Of Conditions Such As Acne, Psoriasis, Rosacea, Vitaligo, Seborrhea, Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer, Skin Rejuvenation, And Get Rid Of Age Spots And Sun Damage With Just One Machine?
Omnilux features three interchangeable LED light treatment heads, each with a different “color” or light wavelength; each head has thousands of evenly spaced diodes which emit a specific narrow band wavelength of light that is proven effective for the condition being treated; Blue, with a wavelength of 415 nm, treats mild to moderate acne vulgaris; Revive (Red), with a wavelength of 633 nm, treats superficial, benign, vascular and pigmented skin lesions, and periorbital wrinkles (when combined with the Plus), as well as moderate to severe acne (when combined with the Blue); Plus (Near Infrared) with a wavelength of 830 nm, relieves minor muscle and joint pain, as well as re-stimulating collagen and elastin production (when used with Revive) for a more youthful skin.
Does Omnilux Work On Dark Or Black Skins Or Skin That Is Tanned?
Omnilux treatments are safe for every skin type and color, and do not require pre-treatment with topical pigments or solutions. The main pre-requisite is that treatments be performed on perfectly clean skin, so as not to interfere with the light transmission through the skin surface.
Can Omnilux Be Used To Treat Other Areas Of The Body, Other Than The Face?
Due to the large and easily moveable treatment head, areas of the neck, chest, back and décolleté are easily treated, as well as the arms or legs. These are the areas most prone to photo damage and are also areas that manifest acne breakouts
