PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY FEDERATION OF
CALIFORNIA Sacramento, CA - The Professional Beauty Federation of California (PBFC) recently hosted over 50 concerned southern California’s salon industry professionals representing the industry's diverse segments such as independent salon/spa owners, multi-salon owners, salon managers, manufacturers, distributors, hair stylist/colorists, nail technicians, estheticians, and barbers and other salon industry-related businesses. The June 14th meeting and luncheon, held at the Carlton Hair International training center in Irvine, was the second in a series of state-wide PBFC 'friend raisers and fund raisers’ – designed to expand support and increase awareness of the issues affecting all the beauty industry segments and the positive impact PBFC has had on all levels and areas of livelihood for California's industry professionals. Speakers at the Town Hall included PBFC Board Chairman Ted D. Nelson who offered that 'we must move the professional beauty industry forward, developing new avenues for business growth, with a clear and unified voice helping to develop public policy and working alongside our state regulatory body’. Fred Jones, PBFC Legislative and Legal Counsel and lobbyist in Sacramento, updated attendees on key legislative and state board of cosmetology matters while exploring how the state’s six billion dollar professional beauty industry is either protected or affected in the immediate future. James O’Regan, President, and Russell Hersowitz, Executive Director of Carlton Hair International provided the venue for PBFC and welcomed the audience, in addition to opening remarks from PBFC Vice-Chair Alexander Irving of 'Esche & Alexander’ PR. PBFC Honorary Board Member and Schwarzkopf General Manager Heinz Beiler also greeted the audience. The event raised over $20,000 to help the PBFC to help its industry! More 'Town Hall' style meetings are slated for the near future at various locations throughout the state.
